Scattered Sites

MHDC's rehabilitation projects work to provide quality affordable housing while preserving the character of the community. By upgrading deteriorated buildings and providing long-term, quality management for the tenants living in them, MHDC is able to meet its goal of preserving the exisiting affordable housing stock.

For many of these units, MHDC has succeeded in acquiring Section 8 Housing Assistance Program contracts- rental subsidies used to stabilize extremely low-income households through affordable housing costs.

Some of these properties also include ground floor commercial space for neighborhood businesses. These spaces are rented at a reasonable price with long-term affordability commitments in place to strengthen the economic vitality of the small business enterprises in the Mission.

The scattered site properties include 11 rehabilitated buildings, for a total of 72 units and 6 commercial spaces.
