Alcantara Court, completed in 1998, provides 50 rental units for seniors. Central community facilities include a community kitchen and large multi-purpose room, reception area and lobby, physical therapy room, laundry facilities and a parking garage. Particular attention has been given to the design of the landscaped open areas of the project. A large portion of the 20,000 square foot site has been preserved as a central garden courtyard accessible to all residents. Landscaping of the central court includes space for outdoor gatherings and seating, planted areas with palm trees and smaller planting areas reserved for therapeutic use by the residents.
