Mission Housing's Tenant Empowerment Department did not let the pandemic detour an annual tradition.
Because Mission Housing could not hold our annual Pumpkin Carving Night in 2021 due to the ongoing pandemic, we distributed pumpkins for residents to carve at home. In all, 86 pumpkins were distributed.
To encourage further engagement and help everyone feel a little more connected in this activity, Mission Housing asked residents to submit photos of pumpkins they carved or a dish they cooked with pumpkin -- to make it more inclusive of all our residents as many residents cook with pumpkin, regardless of whether they celebrate Halloween -- to be entered in a Pumpkin Photo raffle.
