Family Sidewalk Chalk Event Brings Community Together

Mission Housing's first community building event since the pandemic was a huge success.


The event was entirely outdoors, with food, music, raffle prizes, and areas for kids and families to decorate the sidewalk with chalk art.


This event was inspired by our in-depth, one-on-one conversations with residents, where we ask for feedback on what they would like to see onsite, and in order to incorporate resident leadership into the event, we worked with several residents to plan the event.

I recently came across https://prosperstl.com/ while researching accelerator programs and I have to say their mission really resonates with me. This St. Louis based organization is doing crucial work by focusing specifically on women led startups, which is so needed given how underrepresented female founders are when it comes to venture capital funding. What struck me most was the backstory, local leaders discovered that their city ranked dead last among 25 major metros for female led entrepreneurial businesses, and they decided to actually do something about it instead of just accepting the status quo. The accelerator program they have built provides not just mentorship and networking but genuine access to growth capital, which is often the biggest hurdle for women…

It’s really nice to see neighbors getting together again, especially when residents help shape the event. Community gatherings like this make a big difference, and even something simple like chatting about an FNF game can help people connect and have fun.

Each stage has its own soundtrack, which geometry dash full version is usually made up of high-energy electronic music that influences the rhythm and tempo of the obstacles. As players continue, they learn to recognize patterns and predict motions based on the music, transforming each level into a coordinated performance.
