"La Maravilla" reaches major milestone; Construction set to begin Dec. 2025

... It was a historic day with the [San Francisco] Board of Supervisors Budget and Finance Committee voting unanimously to approve the issuance of $60 million in revenue bonds to partially fund the construction of 136 units of supportive housing at the 16th and Mission BART plaza [La Maravilla].
Demolition will start in December and construction will begin in January, according to Sam Moss, executive director of Mission Housing, which is building the project with MEDA.
The funding decision is the latest chapter in a saga that started in 2013 when developer Maximus Real Estate Partners acquired the site on the northeast corner of 16th and Mission streets, proposing to build 330 market rate apartments above the BART station.
